Moving FAQ
Q: How much advance notice do I need to book a move?
F: At least a week; as much as 10 days in the peak summer season.
Q: Do I need to be present for all moving phases?
F: You should be on site for the packing, loading and delivery of your belongings. When that isn’t possible, please ask a family member or trusted friend to represent you.
Q: How can I get boxes to pack myself?
F:You have two choices: we have used boxes for customers or you can buy new ones from us.
Q: When will the crew arrive on moving day?
F: Usually, between 8-10 am unless you’ve made other arrangements.
Q: When will the household goods inventory take place?
F: Inventory can begin as early as packing day, but it usually starts on loading day.
Q: Can I leave my clothes in dresser drawers?
F: Yes, but be sure to leave only clothes. Please don’t store breakable or heavy items in any drawer.
Q: When will my shipment be delivered?
F: We’ll set up a range of delivery dates for you once the loading day has been decided.
Q: Am I required to tip my movers?
F: No. Tips are always graciously accepted but never expected.
Q: What is valuation?
F: Like most moving companies, we automatically provide valuation, not insurance. Valuation is the predetermined limit of our liability as noted on the moving contract or bill of lading. This is automatically part of the contract at no extra cost. You may choose to purchase additional valuation.
Q: What type of payments do you accept?
F: Cash, a cashier’s check, a money order and a major credit card. If you use a credit card, it will be charged three days before your move date. If you use any other method, payment will be due on your delivery date.
Q: If our home is not ready to move into, may we store our household goods?
F: Yes. Depending on your need, we offer short-term storage or long-term storage.
Q: Can you move my car?
F: Your car may go on a truck with your household goods or transported separately on a car carrier.
Q: How do I file a claim if something gets damaged in the move?
F: We work very hard to ensure that everything gets to your destination in the same condition in which it left. You should call your move coordinator at: 800 563-9533 as soon as possible;
they will help you to begin the claim process. |
